Sorry for dropping off folks but it was under extremely difficult and sad circumstances. On Tuesday Sept 8th, my incredible mother lost her battle with cancer and passed on from this world. She was my biggest cheerleader - she even collected every GW and CMON book, every white dwarf and even the recent no quarter my work appeared in. She showed them off to her friends with pride, even though most of them had no idea what they were looking at.
She spent her last day surrounded by family including all of her grand children. In this time it is my three year old daughter that has given me the most comfort. She told me "Don't be sad daddy, Grandma is just going to live with God and Great Grandpa!" From the mouth of babes....
I love her and am forever thankful that I got to be her son.

I'm so sorry for your loss, and I pray that you find comfort soon. She sounds like she was an amazing woman, and I can't imagine how you feel. The hobby has helped me through some dark times, and I hope it will do the same for you, too.
I'm sorry. I lost my mom to cancer 14 years ago. I know your pain, but I swear up and down that she'll be watching and you'll know it when she's around. Trust me, moms never stop watching out for us and cheering us on :)
James, I am so sorry to hear about your mom. The loss like that is very hard to deal with. I hope your daughter will help you to deal with your grief.
Thank you all for your kind words. Crazybaldhead - you are right. My local ipms model club sent flowers to my mothers wake - it really reminded me of the incredible community that I am part of and gave me the will to dive into new creative projects to help me work through all this.
