So for the last year I have been using a wonderful new sculpting putty called ProCreate. Thus far I have liked it so     much that I bought a case and will resell   the extra on ebay for any who are interested.

It is $12 Canadian per pack   plus shipping - just contact me for more  info.  It may have a silly name but this stuff is pretty darn cool. I could ramble on about  the uses and whatnot but here is what you really need to know:

1. Unlike Greenstuff (GS) Procreate does not have a surface memory - this means that when you push it or place it or shape it it will not try to distort back to its original shape. It goes where you put it! This is a big assest for many.2. THIS IS A BIGGIE!!!! Procreate can be sanded and scraped into shape after it is dry. Much better for creating hard edges/mechanical things/ Space marine armour etc. It is usually best to mix it around 60/40 white to black to make it as hard as possible for this kind of application. 3. ProCreate is MUCH better for smoothing between layers of putty when sculpting. Because of this property I also find it much superior for even simple gap filling as it will blend much more easily into the existing model.4. ProCreate is less sticky than Greenstuff and has a smoother overall consistancy. Not as likely to get stuck to sculpting tools is a good thing by my account.

5. In my experience over the past year, mixes of ProCreate have a slightly  longer work time than Greenstuff. This isnt for everyone but it is a feature I really rather like. It can be sped up using a lamp or putty oven just like GS and it can be slowed down/stopped by placing it in the freezer!!!!! No more wasted putty - when you have mixed a bit too much just stick it in the freezer andd come back to it later!

6. You get lots of it for the same price as a little Greenstuff and it is better packaged (the two halves are separately wrapped unlike Greenstuff which is extruded together causing the center section to be almost unusable because it has partially hardened by the time you get to use it!)

 From the manufacturers site http://www.kraftmark.biz/about.html:

ProCreate is a new generation of epoxy putty formulated specifically for the professional artist to create original miniature sculpture. ProCreate has a fine, non-grainy consistency that makes it easy to mix, sculpt, smooth and allows for extremely fine detail.

The unique ProCreate formula allows for easy customization of work life and hardness/flexibility by varying temperature and the mix ratio of base to hardener. The standard mix ratio of 1:1 at 75°F (24°C) allows for a work life of around 120 minutes. A temperature decrease of about 20°F (11°C) will double the work life. Likewise an increase of the same temperature will result in half the work original life. Note that curing above 95°F (32°C) is not recommended since it can soften the mixed putty and result in the loss of sculpture shape and detail. A more flexible cure may be achieved for organic shapes by using more of the black colored hardener. A harder cure may be achieved for hard edges, machines and for easier standing and filling by using more of the white Base putty (see ratio chart for more details).

Gray was specifically selected to be the final mixed color for Procreate. Gray allows fine detail work to be observed more easily and results in less eye strain.

That Having Been Said, I have actually used this extensively on my Games Day Chicago Entry. I will be posting pics of my piece as well as all my work in progress shots, Games Day Coverage and since by the time of this posting it will no longer be a secret - Exclusive Pictures of all the Team North America Golden Demon Entries!!!!! (Including my own - see teaser pic below and CHECK BACK SOON!
