I had been planning to write some tutorials but have been well and thoroughly beaten to the topic by the incomparable Gerhard Schellert who has created not just a single tutorial but a whole blog on making tools. I would SERIOUSLY recommend that any of my readers who are interested in sculpting minis check this out!!!
